Depression Everyday Choice Between Life and Death Soul Shackles Book 4 edition by Robert Jirda Trypheyna McShane Jaimi Sorrell Health Fitness Dieting eBooks
The author of this book promises a different perspective on depression and he truly gives one. As a generally spiritual person "on the path," yet also someone who has struggled with depression despite having built genuine levels of transcendent awareness, I can vouch for the claim that depression is nothing to be ashamed of. It isn't, and how to get past this forms one of the books most valuable lessons. Likewise, one needs to avoid treating depression like a crutch used for achieving secondary gains. There are resources in this book for that too.One of the most compelling aspects of this book appears in the very first chapter, and that is the use of the concept of death to deal with depression. Normally, this is a subject depressed people would want to avoid, but as Richard Wiseman has done somewhat similarly in 59 Seconds, Jirda demonstrates the healing powers of death awareness and the wonderful things that can happen merely by managing death anxiety.
The notion of depression addiction is fascinating as well and I love the idea of being able to take a "depression flu shot."
Depression is well-written, inspirational and just plain different in its approach. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone dealing with or interested in helping others with depression.

Depression Everyday Choice Between Life and Death Soul Shackles Book 4 edition by Robert Jirda Trypheyna McShane Jaimi Sorrell Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews
Robert Jirda takes a slightly different approach to dealing with depression than the tradition of therapy, drugs or 12 step programs. Those of us who deal with this condition either because we are depressed, or others in our life are, will benefit from reading this book. The author gives many helpful tips on dealing with depression. The author's section on "material depression" gave me new understanding of entitlement. The author states "To believe you are entitled to anything is a recipe for disaster. Thoughts of entitlement are thoughts of lack and bring depression." I hadn't realized that entitlement might be based on lack. Chapter 6, How to Catch and Keep Health, was an excellent review of habits we all need, no matter our state of mind. I liked his reminder that "depression is an active process that depends on our participation". His chapter, 7 Daily Miracles, and his reminder of starting the day with gratitude fit in with my chapter on miracles in my book Ask the Angels to---.
Unfortunately depression is one of the most common forms of mental disorder in our society.
This book offers an alternative look at depression, you get to see it from a different perspective, one that comes more from a spiritual view point and involves working with our chakras, the energy centers in our bodies.
I like this book, his style of writing is so positive in it's nature that you'll find it impossible to be or feel depressed about anything once you've read a few pages.
It gives you a great understanding of what depression truly is, how to take it, own it and turn things around so you can use depression to your advantage.
I feel Jirda writes from his heart and his words reach your soul.
Your mindset gets turned around from a negative one to feeling much more positive about things and life.
I recommend this if you want to make depression work for you and make it a stepping stone to enable you to turn your feelings around, to see the light at the end of the tunnel and make it through, and follow your vision no matter what hurdle you face along the way.
I would actually like to recommend this great little book to everyone, you don't have to suffer from depression to receive the benefits of Jirda's words of wisdom. He has a beautiful way of looking at things and comes across as a very genuine person.
This book will benefit EVERYONE in some way if they read it.
In the introduction of his book Robert Jirda makes the bold statement that depression can be a highly positive resource, creating magnificent beauty in your life...he will also show you how to get rid of depression when it has served its purpose.
I confess that I was skeptical when I read that statement but his refreshing approach has convinced me that many people who suffer from depression can look forward to benefiting from reading his book. It book opens the door to new and refreshing information and therefore, provides new choices for those hampered by depression.
Robert Jirda also makes another bold statement " Regardless of what your spouse is trying to imply, she does enjoy depression, in the same way that you might enjoy horror movies..." This statement, however, is backed up by information from a brilliant article on the subject, by Alan Conell, MSW, NLP coach and author. Nevertheless, I pity the husband who dares to tell his depressive spouse that she is enjoying it. Robert Jirda is a very brave man. I welcome his views on a topic that is almost taboo in some quarters.
The view of an expert quoted in Mr. Jirda's book tells us that those with depression should not go into resistance. It is the resistance that caused him the most pain whether he was resisting physically, mentally, emotionally and otherwise.
Mr. Jirda advises you that depression can be a powerful tool at your disposal. It focuses all of your attention on a single aspect of your life that needs to be fixed. "You have been neglecting something, and here it is, magnified a thousand times for you to see it. Once you know and accept you can rest assured there is no need for depression anymore."
Mr. Jirda's book is a refreshing alternative to many other books on the subject. Read it and be enlightened.
